Raising awareness about the pleasure of walking in the city
As in many American cities, travels in Raleigh are mainly by car. Yet the city center is denser, which forces us to rethink how to move around the city. Matt, a young town planner, developed a series of signs indicating the walking distance between two given points and gathered a handful of volunteers to install them at three intersections of the city. Then, following a kickstarter campaign, Matt was able to create templates downloadable by anyone wishing to launch a similar campaign in other cities.
