La Livroteca

"Because who feeds on books is free," the book traffickers of the Livroteca want to encourage and allow everyone to be the actor of his life, allowing access to books in the favela. Kcal, at the initiative of the project, began by creating a small library in the favela. The Livroteca has grown and now occupies an old drug spot, still in the heart of the favela. Little by little, the place attracted many children. New citizens' projects are emerging, such as the green favela, a garden created by the residents on the place where the waste was accumulating.
