Social Street

Italy / Bologne

Allowing residents of a neighborhood to create links and help each other easily and freely.

This concept of participative neighborhood, called "social street", seduces every day more and more Italians. Without paying a penny, the inhabitants of the same street can get service, meet around a cafe, all via a Facebook private group. Today, 345 social streets are listed on socialstreet.it. A proof of the growing importance of the concept: a delegation representing "social streets" was received at the Italian Senate at a colloquium on active citizenship.
