Ensureing food security through social reintegration in agriculture and the use of undeveloped land
Here, beets, carrots, cabbages and organic rutabagas grow like hotcakes. In 2017, eight young dropouts in social reintegration, supervised by professionals, made a record harvest on untapped agricultural lands west of the Island of Montreal: 120 tons! 55% of the crop goes to food banks to allow Montrealers with no access to fresh local vegetables. Root vegetables have not finished growing: by 2021, "Cutliver l'espoir" plans to offer 575 tonnes of vegetables to nearly 300,000 people!
