La Transformerie

Canada / Montréal

Fighting against food waste thanks to fruits and vegetables' collecting

In Canada, 40% of food is wasted. Faced with this heavy challenge, Guillaume Cantin (former Chef of Montreal) and Thibault Renouf decided to reduce food waste in Montreal! They reclaim the fruits and vegetables from the grocery and fruit-making businesses, that Guillaume then transforms into gourmet canned foods sold in grocery stores, while another portion of the unsold goods is handed over to organizations in food security. A good example of a social and circular economy! With the Transformerie, the pleasure is preserved and shared.
