Improving sanitary conditions and living standards of slum dwellers through dry and ecological toilets
In the slums of Lima, the capital of Peru, many households do not have toilets at home. This represents a major health and insalubrity problem, with the appearance of infectious diseases and epidemics. To address this issue, the social enterprise X-runner has designed innovative, low-cost dry, portable and eco-friendly toilets, which it installs in homes, while teaching them how to use them. Once a week, X-runner comes to collect the excrement to make compost. A hygienic and ecological solution!
