Casa de la Solidaridad, or "House of Solidarity" is an association created by Federico Chipana and a small team of volunteers. Located in one of the poorest slums of El Alto, the city adjacent to La Paz, La Casa seeks to get families and especially young people out of a daily life where violence, alcoholism, drugs, insecurity, etc. are mixed up. It organizes cultural and educational activities with local youth who, through these activities, learn to show the best of themselves, to define their life plans and to become responsible citizens.
